Le corps du soldat Huot T. Bell, un vétéran de la guerre mondiale, mort d'une pneumonie en France, le 8 février 1919, arrivé à Kittanning jeudi après-midi et a été emmené à sa dernière demeure au 232 chestnut street, où le service funèbre sera fait le dimanche à 14h00, le révérant Bernand Fetterly officiera. Il sera enterré au cimetière de Kittanning avec les honneurs militaire et sous l’oeil de l'American Legion poste numéro 122.
The body of Private Huot T. Bell, a veteran of the world war, who died of pneumonia in France, February 8, 1919, arrived in Kittanning Thursday afternoon and was taken to his late home 232 chestnut St., where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Bernard Fetterly officiating. He will be buried in the Kittanning cimetery with full military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post No.122.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Bell of Rural Valley and was born there in 1895. For a number of years Mr. Bell was employed at the George Cafe. He entered the service september 19, 1917 going to Camp Lee from which place he left for overseas in May 1918, being a member of Headquarters Detechment Co., of the 80th Division.

Private Huot T. Bell, world veteran who died in France was laid to rest in Kittanning cemetery Sunday afternoon with military honors by the American Legion Post.
Le révérant Bernard Fetterly a conduit les services à la maison de chesnut street à 14:30. La légion, sous le commandement du capitaine Carl Tinstman, a escorté le corps au cimetière. Le corps a été soulevé par les épaules des porteurs et escorté entre les rangés à la tombe. Le révérant Fetterly, agit comme aumônier et a "béni" le corps. Un peloton, sous la direction du capitaine Calr Tinstman, a rendu le salut pour le mort et le signal a été fait par le clairon August Bellas.
Rev, Bernard Fetterly conducted the services at the home on chestnut street at 2:30 o'clock. The Legion, under the command of Capt. Carl Tinstman, escorted the body to the cemetery. The body was lifted to the shoulders of the pass bearers and escorted between the lines to the grave. Rev, Fetterly acted as chaplain and committed the body. A firing squad under the direction of Capt. Carl Tinstman gave the salute for the dead and taps were blown by Bugler August Bellas.

Les services funèbres de Huot Bell, ancien garçon de Kittaning mort durant son service avec les forces américaines à l'étranger, se sont tenu à la dernière résidence de Chestnut street, dimanche après-midi suivit par 100 membres de la Poste Armstrong de l'American Legion et un certain nombre d'autres amis et relations du décédé.
Funeral services for Huot Bell, former Kittanning boy who dies while serving with United States forces overseas, were held from the late residence on Chestnut street on Sunday afternoon attended by 100 members of the Armstong Post of the American Legion and a number of other friend and relatives of the deceased.
Un court éloge funèbre a été donné à la maison par le révérant Bernard Fetterly, prise dans les textes : " J'ai entendu une voix du ciel me dire, bénis sont les morts qui meurent dans le Seigneur. Oui a dit l'esprit, ils se reposent de leurs travaux et leur monde les suit ».

A short funeral address was given at the home by Rv. Bernard Fetterly taken from the text, " I heard a voice from Heaven saying unto me, blessed are the dead that die in the Lord. Yea, said the spirit, they rest from their labors and their world do follow them".
PS : the real text come from Bible : revelation 14:13 : "And I heard a voice from heaven telling me to write, “Blessed are the dead — those who die in the Lord from this moment on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “- they will rest from their labors, for their deeds will follow them."
Les porte-drapeaux, choisis dans les rangs de la légion américaine, étaient William George, Boyd Henry, Robert Swan, George Lindeman, John Kulcer et Wade Bowser. The pall bearers, chosen from the ranks of the American Legion were William George, Boyd Henry, Robert Swan, George Lindeman, John Kulcer, and Wade Bowser. David Dixon and Ward McCullough also of the Legion acted as color bearers, and escorted the body of the deceased soldier to the cemetery where Buglar August Bellas of Ford City blew "taps" and the final salute was fired as the body was lowered to its last resting place.
